About BM&FBOVESPA

Sustainability

At BM&FBOVESPA, we see sustainability as a new management model that inspires the conduct of business in synergy with the interests of society and the planet both today and tomorrow. Our mission in sustainability is to foster, promote and practice concepts and actions of economic, social and environmental responsibility in order to contribute to sustainable development.

We unremittingly strive to implement best practice in governance and assume public positions in this field: we were the first exchange in the world to sign the United National Global Compact, a strategic policy initiative for businesses committed to aligning their operations and strategies with internationally accepted core values in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

We seek to identify and, as far as possible, to mitigate the negative externalities of our activities and to harmonize these actions with the goal of shareholder value creation.

Because we see corporate sustainability as a competitive advantage, we continuously pursue it in all activities, including decision making processes, management, the products we offer, and the services we provide.

Our initiatives are grouped together under the umbrella of Novo Valor, a program that promotes sustainable development both in the company itself and in the capital markets through internal and external actions to stimulate reflection on the main discussions that involve sustainability in Brazil and the world.
